PRO Series Quality Testing
Just like you, we want to be absolutely sure that our sponges are 100% effective and safe. That's why we subject them to the most stringent tests on the market. Not only for harmful substances, but also for effective ones such as polysaccharides, beta-glucans, terpenes, etc.
Mushrooms like to take in all sorts of substances from the environment in which they grow. In order to ensure that nothing unwanted gets into ours, we actually test them continuously: from harvesting, through production, to the finished product. You could say we are obsessed with testing.
We test MycoMedica mushrooms in laboratories in the USA, Ireland, Germany, as well as at the University of Science and Technology in Prague. We don't do random tests, but honestly test all mushroom raw materials at all stages of the process. Top-quality facilities search for more than 350 harmful substances in our mushrooms. For example:
- Pesticides - we ensure that our mushrooms are not contaminated with any banned or dangerous chemicals used in agriculture
- Heavy metals - we analyse for heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium and arsenic to ensure that levels remain well below safety limits
- radioactivity - we carefully monitor levels of radioactive isotopes to ensure that our products are completely safe for long-term consumption
- polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which are carcinogenic, can affect fetal development and have been linked to cardiovascular disease
- microbial contaminants - we monitor for harmful micro-organisms including bacteria, moulds and yeasts to ensure the highest possible hygiene levels in our products
The tests we carry out are far more demanding than those required by legislation. We can attach a report to each individual capsule and tell you exactly where it came from.
Our mushrooms have been achieving excellent results in tests for 15 years.
PRO range - we also test the active ingredients
Do you think it is enough to test mushrooms for harmful substances? Not enough. You also need to test whether they have enough active ingredients to actually work. In addition to testing for harmful substances, MycoMedica also tests its mushrooms for beneficial substances.
Our new PRO line is carefully tested and standardized not only for polysaccharides, but also for beta-1,3/1,6-D-glucan content to ensure its high quality and efficacy. Betaglucans are part of polysaccharides and are the most important active substances in mushrooms, responsible for their effect on our immune system. Each product undergoes a thorough analysis process where we use state-of-the-art methods to accurately measure the betaglucan content. Betaglucans are the most potent substances that directly regulate our immune system. We are the only company in Europe that does testing on this scale. Testing for beta-glucans is complex and costly. As a prestigious manufacturer, MycoMedica naturally does such tests.
What else do we regularly test for besides betaglucans and polysaccharides?
- Cordycepin at Cordyceps
- mannitol at Cordyceps
- adenosine at Cordyceps
- hericenones at Hericium
- erinacinins in Hericium
- triterpenes in Chaga and Reishi
