What to do with high cholesterol?

High cholesterol. A diagnosis with which in recent years, perhaps, "ripped the bag". You, your parents, your friends and acquaintances have it and it's a topic that would make an entire evening. No one is likely to be happy to hear this news from a doctor, let alone be told that you will be on medication for the rest of your life. These drugs, called statins, have a multitude of side effects that include digestive problems, musculoskeletal pain, headaches and many others. Only dietary modifications and specific dietary restrictions rarely help. It takes a total lifestyle change and a little something extra on top of that. Stress is also a big factor.

We'll tell you a story from our lives. In our MycoMedica expert consulting room, we advise hundreds of people on how to address their health problems where Western medicine does not, or they are simply looking for something different for their body. And we have a lot of cases with high cholesterol.

A unique product that we like to recommend to everyone is MycoCholest. It contains an extract of the medicinal mushroom Shiitake and also the important Monacolin K, which helps to maintain normal cholesterol levels. One of the best known sources of monacolin K is red fermented rice. Coenzyme Q10 and rutin are also added to MycoCholest to support its effects.

And how does MycoCholest actually work in practice?

Mrs. Jana, age 25: This young woman sent us her blood test results from July 2023, when her total cholesterol was 5.5 mmol/L.

When she arrived for a follow-up appointment 5 months later, she was surprised to see her cholesterol level had risen to 5.71 mmol/L. Jana's higher cholesterol level was in spite of the fact that she was living a healthy lifestyle, eating healthy, playing sports and trying to do everything the doctors recommended. At that time, Jana contacted our clinic and started taking MycoCholest on recommendation.

After 2.5 months of taking MycoCholest, Mrs. Jana went for a check-up and was pleasantly surprised by the result. There was a reduction to 5.16 mmol/L.

We always recommend to take MycoCholest for at least 2-3 months for a visible result. After this time, the cholesterol level in 95% of people will be harmonized . After that you can decide whether to continue with MycoCholest or switch to the medicinal mushrooms Reishi or Maitake, which have vitalising effects and help to keep the cholesterol level within the normal range.
